Get the Markle Sparkle Look!

It is every girl’s dream to get married to a prince in the ultimate modern fairy tale, so what’s not to love about the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! From the star studded guest list which included George Clooney and David Beckham, to the ethereal floral arrangements of garden white roses, peonies and foxgloves which hung ornately around the entrance of St George’s Chapel , Windsor Castle – this surely was the wedding of the year!

We take you through our take of the magnificent jewels worn by Meghan Markle during the Royal Wedding, showing you alternatives that will give you all that #marklesparkle!

The star attraction of Meghan’s look was undoubtedly the platinum art deco tiara that was delicately placed on top of the five-metre-long lavish veil embroidered with the 53 embroidered flowers of the Commonwealth. Eleven openwork sections form the tiara, pierced and set with sparkling diamonds throughout; harking back the femininity of yesterday! The tiara was originally owned by Queen Mary in 1932, with a detachable diamond brooch in the centre of the tiara being gifted in 1893 to the Queen Mary for her wedding day.

Meghan’s elegant look was accentuated by a pair of Gelanterie de Cartier earrings, which had a large centre round cut diamond with smaller diamonds in a curved line surround; simple whilst adding a touch of glamour to the occasion! Whilst Cartier can be out of reach for some brides, we find that more affordable earring styles here at Ramsdens Jewellery can achieve that royal bride style. Our 9ct white gold diamond earrings have a similar look to the ones Meghan wore, with the large diamond in the centre with an elegant halo of beautiful diamonds; getting that markle sparkle!

Later on her journey to the evening reception, Meghan wowed us with an aquamarine Asprey cocktail ring which had belonged to Harry’s mother Princess Diana; a vibrant burst of colour against Meghan’s sophisticated Stella McCartney halter neck dress. The large emerald cut aquamarine gemstone glamorously surrounded by small solitaire diamonds and set in 24ct gold. We love how Harry proposed to Meghan with a trilogy engagement ring, crafted from a large centre diamond sourced from Botswana and two smaller diamonds from Princess Diana’s priced collection. A diamond trilogy ring is a beautiful change from the usual solitaire styles that are typically picked for a traditional wedding ring, symbolised the romantic journey which the relationship will travel down to marriage! Meghan’s engagement ring is set in yellow gold due to it being her apparent favourite precious metal, if its good enough for the Duchess of Sussex it is good enough for us! Our diamond trilogy ring gives a subtle nod to Meghan’s ring, however has dazzling diamonds of similar sizes to give an elegant sophisticated look. This ring is also £1,349.00, with a RRP of £2,699 – how about spending the savings on a Harry & Meghan-esque honeymoon to Botswana?

To compliment the showstopping emerald cut aquamarine cocktail ring, Meghan chose to wear drop diamond earrings from Cartier’s Reflection De Cartier collection; giving a nod to the bejewelled pieces she wore alongside her elegant Givenchy dress for the wedding ceremony. The delicate drop style complimented Meghan Markle’s features perfectly, drawing the eye down to a stylish Stella McCartney gown finished off by satin Aquazzura shoes with baby blue soles – that perfect something blue! We feel that these 18ct white gold diamond drop earrings give the perfect royal wedding vibe, whilst being modern and different with the tear drop shaped drop design. With estimated 2.70cts, this stunning pair of earrings would be the ultimate showpiece for any wedding!
